By accessing or using Hardhat Ledger ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.
Hardhat Ledger provides AI-powered bookkeeping and job costing software designed for construction contractors. Features include receipt scanning, expense tracking, job profitability analysis, and financial reporting.
3.1 Free Trial: New users receive a 14-day free trial of the Starter plan. No credit card is required to start.
3.2 Paid Plans: Paid subscriptions (Pro, Business) are billed monthly. Prices are listed on our pricing page and may change with 30 days notice.
3.3 Automatic Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date.
3.4 Payment Processing: Payments are processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your payment card details.
4.1 Cancel Anytime: You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or the billing portal.
4.2 Effect of Cancellation: Upon cancellation, you retain access to paid features until the end of your current billing period.
4.3 No Refunds: We do not provide prorated refunds for partial billing periods. You will not be charged for future periods after cancellation.
4.4 Data Export: Upon cancellation, you may export your data in QuickBooks-compatible format. Data is retained for 30 days after cancellation, after which it may be permanently deleted.
5.1 Ownership: You retain full ownership of all data you upload or create within the Service, including receipts, job records, and financial information.
5.2 Data Portability: You may export your data at any time in standard formats (CSV, PDF) compatible with accounting software like QuickBooks.
5.3 Data Security: We use industry-standard encryption and security practices to protect your data. See our Privacy Policy for details.
5.4 AI Processing: Receipt images may be processed by AI services (OpenAI) for text extraction. This data is processed securely and not used to train AI models.

Hardhat Ledger is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not responsible for any financial decisions made based on data in the Service. The Service is not a substitute for professional accounting advice. Our total liability is limited to the amount paid for the Service in the past 12 months.
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
